Phototherapy Eye Shields
NeoShades with Tabs from Neotech are made of a soft, gentle fabric that strives to provide the best in patient comfort. The most outstanding feature of this product is the tabs that hold it in place. A gentle hydrocolloid adhesive attaches the tabs to the patient’s temples; these tabs then attach to the NeoShades via low-noise hook fabric that is unlikely to disturb the patient when the NeoShades need to be adjusted. The cute sunglasses design adds a touch of fun.
Preparation
Step 1 Select proper size.
Step 2 Clean and dry skin per hospital protocol.
Note: It is important for skin to be as clean and dry as possible. Tabs will not adhere properly to moist skin or hair. Oils and lotions will adversely affect adhesion.
DO NOT USE ALCOHOL.
Application
Step 1 Before removing liners, carefully remove tabs from NeoShades and warm tabs in hands for 60 seconds. May also be held under radiant or heel warmer for 10 to 15 seconds.
Step 2 Peel and discard liners. Place tabs on skin and hold in place for 60 seconds to ensure proper adhesion.
Step 3 Cover eyes with NeoShades and gently attach to tabs.
Note: Leave a portion of the tab exposed for easier removal.
Removal
Step 1 Hold edge of tab in place and slowly separate NeoShades from tab.
Step 2 Saturate tab with water or saline.
Step 3 Slowly peel tab away from skin as you swab with water or saline.
Repeat for opposite side.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
The NeoShades are indicated for use as eye protection during phototherapy sessions. They are intended for use on pediatric (neonates, infants and children) patients.
CONTRAINDICATIONS, CAUTIONS & WARNING
The NeoShades with Tabs are contraindicated for patients with facial deformation, skin infection or excoriated skin areas that would prevent the proper placement of the tabs. They are not intended for use on adults.
Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.
NeoShades should only be used while the patient is under the continuous, direct supervision of healthcare professionals.
Tabs should always be removed when NeoShades are taken off the patient. Do not reuse.
Discontinue immediately if skin irritation occurs.
