Neotech’s RAM Cannula features soft, gently curved prongs designed for patient comfort. Its simple set up and flexible tubing helps promote developmentally appropriate positioning for infants and children. This Neotech RAM Cannula in India is available in seven sizes. All sizes are color-coded and include a 15-millimeter oxygen tubing adapter for use with low-flow or high flow high-flow humidified oxygen.

Indications For Use

The healthcare professionals in India intend to use the Neotech RAM Cannula for preterm and term neonates, infants, and pediatric patients who require supplemental oxygen, respiratory support, or assistance in breathing in ambulatory, hospital, or institutional environments. They use it to provide oxygen through the following methods:

  • Heated or unheated, humidified low flow oxygen.
  • Heated, humidified high flow oxygen.
Directions for Use

Preparation:
  • After you insert the catheter, clean and dry the skin according to hospital protocol.
  • Note: It is important for skin to be as clean and dry as possible. NeoBridge will not adhere properly to moist skin or hair. Oils and lotions will also adversely affect adhesion.
  • DO NOT USE ALCOHOL.
Application:
  • Step-1: Select proper size cannula by using RAM size guide provided in package. Ideal prongs size will fill approximately 80% of nares. Ensure that prongs do not fill nares completely.
  • Step-2: Attach 15 mm oxygen tubing adapter (provided) to Neotech RAM cannula. Attach cannula to oxygen source. Make sure to properly secure all cannula connections.
  • Step-3: Open and test the level of oxygen flow before putting the device on the patient.
  • Step-4: Insert prongs into patient’s nares and allow a small gap between patient’s septum and base of prongs.
  • Step-5: Secure cannula to face with EZ-Hold® Tubing and Cannula Holder or comparable product.
  • Step-6: Replace Neotech RAM Cannula every 14 days or per hospital protocol, whichever is sooner. Dispose of used RAM Cannula per hospital protocol.
CONTRAINDICATIONS, CAUTIONS & WARNINGS
  • Doctors in India contraindicate the Neotech RAM Cannula for patients with nasal atresia or for patients with facial structure deformities that prohibit adequate respiratory support.
  • Patients with nasal atresia or facial structure deformities that prohibit adequate respiratory support should not use the Nasal Cannula.
  • Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.
  • Generally, healthcare professionals should only use this device while supervising the patient continuously, meanwhile ensuring the patient's safety. Furthermore, they must regularly observe the position of the prongs in the patient's nares to prevent any potential issues.
  • Improper selection of size, improper positioning or improper use may result in septal trauma or necrosis.
  • Cannula tubing can pose a potential strangulation hazard. Do not use the O-ring to secure the device to the patient.
  • Always begin gas flow, subsequently prior to inserting prongs into the patient’s nares.
  • Do not use if package is damaged or open.
  • Do not soak, wash, or sterilize.
  • Reuse of this device could result in cross contamination.
  • Discontinue immediately if skin irritation occurs.
  • Single patient use only.
