Keep tubing and catheters safe and secure with Neotech’s innovative Hold-A-Line. Made with a gentle NeoBond Hydrocolloid base, this product is skin friendly and ideal for infants with sensitive skin. "With its secure fold-over flap, Hold-A-Line not only keeps tubing in place, but also relieves pressure on catheters. The unique U-shape means less irritation for protruding umbilical stumps, and the holder can open and close repeatedly. With its clear flap, Hold-A-Line also allows for continued visibility of tubing.

Indications For Use

The Hold-A-Line is designed to anchor and support umbilical catheters and tubing for pediatric patients (neonates, infants, and children).

Directions for Use

Preparation:
  • After the catheter or tube is in place, clean and dry skin per hospital protocol.
  • Note:It is important for skin to be as clean and dry as possible. Hold-A-Line will not adhere properly to moist skin or hair. Oils and lotions will also adversely affect adhesion.
  • DO NOT USE ALCOHOL.
Application:
  • Step-1: Actively warm the hydrocolloid adhesive before removing the plastic liner. Specifically , warming techniques include: hold between the palms of your hands for at least 60 seconds, hold near a radiant warmer for 10-15 seconds, or alternatively , hold against a chemical heel warmer for 10-15 seconds.
  • Step-2: Discard the white paper liner, and then peel and discard the clear plastic liner from the hydrocolloid base.
  • Step-3: Apply base to skin and hold in place for 60 seconds to ensure proper adhesion.
  • Step-4: Peel and discard frosted liner and adhere catheter or tube to base.
  • Step-5: Fold flap over catheter or tube, align with base and press firmly together, enclosing catheter or tube between adhesives.
  • Step-6: Lift flap as needed to reposition or remove catheter or tube.

Removal
  • Step-1: Replace Hold-A-Line every 5 days or per hospital protocol, whichever is sooner.
  • Step-2: Lift flap to remove catheter or tube.
  • Step-3: Saturate Hold-A-Line with water or saline.
  • Step-4: Slowly peel Hold-A-Line away from skin as you swab the skin with water or saline.
Cautions & Warnings
  • Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.
  • Hold-A-Line should only be used, therefore, while the patient is under the continuous, direct supervision of trained healthcare professionals.
  • Discontinue immediately if skin irritation occurs.
  • Hold-A-Line will not adhere properly to moist skin or hair. Oils and lotions will adversely affect adhesion.
  • Do not use alcohol to clean skin prior to application.
  • Single patient use only.
